Marlene Eidson,
Chief Operating Officer

Marlene has over 20 years of accounting experience.  She has been with Kidsplay since February 2004.  Before then she spent four years with a Lawrenceville CPA firm.  She has worked with the State of Georgia and Dekalb County and was also an election poll manager, which was a very enjoyable experience.  In the middle of Marlene’s career, she took 15 years away from full-time work to raise her two sons.  During those years she taught 4 year old preschool at her church, and thoroughly loved every minute of it.  Here at Kidsplay, she is happy to be able to combine her love of children and accounting into one job!

Marlene has been married to a wonderful husband for over 36 years and has two grown sons.  In her spare time, Marlene enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and traveling.  She and her husband love to go antiquing!  She is very happy to be working with all the wonderful people here at Kidsplay and thanks God for bringing her here.

katie joyce

Katharine Joyce
Occupational Therapist

katie@kidsplaytherapy.com

Katie earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Georgia and a M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University. She had the opportunity to intern at Kidsplay Therapy during the summer of 2008 where she developed valuable skills and irreplaceable relationships with the children, parents and therapists. This experience paved the way for an exciting career at Kidsplay, beginning in August of 2008.

Katie’s experience includes interning at a public school for children with emotional and behavioral disturbances, mentoring a child with attention and learning difficulties and interning at a nonprofit school for children with learning differences and sensory integration dysfunction (SID). She has utilized aquatic and hippotherapies with children who have SID, developmental issues and spectrum disorders. She also planned and led a social skills summer camp for children along the ASD spectrum during her internship at Kidsplay.

Because Katie was fortunate to experience Kidsplay since May of 2008, she has seen the children who receive services there grow and blossom into more harmonious individuals. Being able to take part in a child’s unique development by utilizing sensory integration techniques is what drew Katie to Kidsplay. She appreciates the philosophy of following the child’s lead to promote a more child-motivated environment, opening the window for learning new skills.
Outside of Kidsplay, Katie enjoys dancing, playing sports, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
